"His face was said to be the most radiant of all worldly things!"
The
Earth was a mere Hatchling, when Hera the jealous green-eyed monster
sprouted leagues of women to populate her new world. She had originally
intended for women to be the most beautiful of all of Earth's
creatures, but her plan went awry. Persephone, the radiant goddess of
Springtime... teamed up with Hades, the Prince of the Underworld and
produced a male heir named Pock.
When
Persephone's birth water spilled unto the floor, it seeped into the
ground, where vines sprouted. From the vines emerged a radiant man whom
was engulfed in flames. The gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus all
gathered to see the newborn immortal man, and were content; all except
for jealous green-eyed Hera, whom was furious that this newborn was
more beautiful than the women which she had created with her own hands.
She immediately devised a scheme to make sure Pock would suffer for his
beauty.
Over
the years, women from all across the world would gather to see Pock's
radiant face. Hera had her son Ares, the god of war, descend from the heavens to punish Pock. As history went along, Ares found himself to be the most disliked of all the gods on Mount Olympus, so he went along with his mother's task in order to gain father with the Olympians. Ares challenged Pock to a duel, the winner getting the title of most beautiful man alive.
Pock fell to Ares' gleaming swordplay, and lost his title of most beautiful man. Without his title, Pock considered himself rendered virtually useless.
