I believe that happiness is not an emotion that you experience, but a choice that you have to make on a daily basis. Suppose a kid just stuck his middle finger at you in the middle of class... the natural response would be to lift up your desk and throw it at the kid in a masculine hulk-esque manner. The smart response however, take some deep breaths and remove yourself from the situation. By removing yourself from the diabolical situation, you place yourself one step closer to feeling the full-on effects of the rainbow of awesomeness.
I believe that happiness is an emotion that you have to prepare to recieve, and after you have prepared a smile to accept happiness, happiness will engulf you in a warm caress. Have you ever had a terrible day and all of a sudden you just smiled? Have you ever just forgotten all the hatred and angst that you've had to deal with for that one day, and then you just decided to crack a delicious smile that engulfed your face like a rainbow of awesomeness? Yeah, smiles are that powerful.
I believe that if you want to be happier and more successful, you've got to take that first pro-active move by heading out into the world and cracking a grin. I believe that if you smile at people, they will be more inclined to not be totally mean or hurtful towards you. I figure if you're a constant target of attacks or criticism, you have nothing to lose right? Just crack open a smile, and watch a torrent of happiness serenade you with awesomeness and soothing spectrums of light.
I believe that a smile is a rainbow of awesomeness that you can choose to deploy whenever you wish. In a weekly outing with your family, suppose you got in a car crash and everything in your life seems to have taken a complete halt. All of your family members are at each other's throats and you're wallowing in a miserable pit of danger, when suddenly... you crack open a beautiful smile. It doesn't matter if your smile is filled with gaping holes in your teeth. It doesn't matter if your teeth are yellowed and riddled with disease. It doesn't matter if your breath smells like you just ate fish and garlic and topped it off with some raw onion sandwich, because your smile is a powerful thing. Use it well, because with great power comes great responsibility.
